LTE North America Awards 2011

LTE is surely one of the most advanced technologies in the world and several countries have implemented the latest generation of telecom communication system. This has rapidly increase communication and information sharing in their economies and it continues to grow.

LTE North America Awards is a way to congratulate the companies that have done well to advance this modern form of communication. Started in 2010, LTE Awards continued to recognize efforts of Telecom companies and on 8th November the Award Night Gala Dinner was held in Fairmont Dallas Hotel, Dallas, Texas, USA.

Huawei Technologies was awarded Best Contribution to R&D for LTE while Nokia Siemens Network was awarded Best LTE Core Network Product for its Open Core System. Dr. Xiang “Steven” Chang of Huawei Technologies received the individual award for Contribution to LTE Standards. MetroPCS also received award for Significant Progress for a Commercial Launch of LTE by a Carrier – 2010/12 while Ericsson also received award for Significant Progress for a Commercial Launch of LTE by a Vendor – 2010/12.

Anritsu, ZTE, GCT Semiconductor and Cisco Systems also received awards for their contributions to LTE development in North America. The technology continues to improve as more and more research is conducted and newer technologies and hardware developed to improve existing infrastructure.

For Pakistanis, we still have just over one year to taste 3G.
