 General experience with PTCL broad-band is that they are providing very good service but if there is any issue, they have very poor customer services support. You really need to have some friend working there to have issues resolved timely.

 @ Usman. Same here. And no doubts they have improved over time. I wonder why the 6 months old survey's results are still considered valid and acted upon.

 Agreed. every time i had experience to consult customer support, i was disappointed. sometimes it seems as no one is taking ownership. everyone gives one other number to dial and keep on teasing. They really have to look into this issue.

 I have a very bad experience with PTCL... The broadband/Smart TV service is pathetic.... I hardly have a day with no outage in smart tv and their customer service at all complains informs that the problem will be resolved in 24 hours which never ever happened... I am sick of them

 PTCL services are pathetic...i have been a user of ptcl braodband for over 3 years now...and recently my internet was disconnected..when i contected ptcl regarding why it was disconnected, they said i "asked" them to disconnect!..I told them to re-enable it...which they did...but then my connection kept dropping every few minutes...so much so that even browsing the internet was impossible....so i complained about my situation...and how did they resolve it?...they disconnect my internet again...saying i asked them to disconnect ...i asked them to re-enable it again!....but the internet was impossible to use...so i "accidentally" complained again..how did they resolve it again?...they disabled the "automatic complaint system" on my telephone line...then i had to talk to a operator to register a complain after waiting 15-20 minutes just to hear that i am being diverted to the "superwiser" and had to wiat another 15-20 min..just so that he can tell me the "new" complaint number that he just registered...my older complaints were magically resolved..but the problem was still here at my end. i even went to the F-11 exchange to tell the so called "engineers" working there...and when they finally managed to open up the log...they saw that my internet was disconnected after the exchange was closed(that the so called security of ptcl servers)..somebody was remotely connecting to the servers from their homes and messing with the servers. in the end i had to take a snapshot of the dsl modem status window and explain to the "engineer" there how to fix it...and thats how they finally manage to fix it. now..in my opinion..the reason why the QoS of ptcl is so pathetic is because most of the "engineers" employed there are "sifarsh" based without any actual knowledge of what they are doing..since ptcl is privatized..it is sad to say that the "sifarish" system is still dominant inside ptcl...until ptcl decides to change their system to "merit" based...i am sad to say that they will continue to fail with their QoS.

 @ Bilal. I agree to almost everything you've written except for the last 'sifarish' part. This problem of disconnections, customer complaints and feedbacks is with every other operator. From worldcall to wateen and to wi-tribe. I have experienced all the three and have come to know its impossible to TRAIN Pakistanis to HONESTLY serve their rules, because this thing can not be taught. It comes form within!

 @absar, actually pakistanis are "more" hardworking than most of the people in other countries...its just that our talent is wasted in other parts... i for one...am an electronics engineer..graduated last summer...working now as a freelance webdesigner..now when "i" with no actual experience in ISP's system can pinpoint the problem to the "engineers" hired and paid by a company to do the same thing.. why cant they do it in the first place? now in a private ISP (worldcall,wi-tribe)..if ur problem is not solved..you can go to the higher authorities and tell them that the employees are not working properly..to the private companies..client satisfaction is everything...but to a company like ptcl..client satisfication is the last priority..i met with the theGM(DSL operations) regarding my issue...and frankly speaking...if i had asked him what DSL stands for...he wouldnt be able to answer!..

 @ Bilal. Many thanks for your reply. I get where you are pointing at. I would still like to be my lawyer. If Pakistanis had been smart workers rather than settling for whats thrown their way, we wouldn't have been here. Where is the honesty? Isn't not finding the fault by themselves an act of carelessness and dishonesty? I bet they are misfits. Our industry buzz with misfits. Anyway, staying to the point, the reactions to customer support handlings differ, right? So, I prefer not to waste more of my time making them hear what they don't want to hear. It was convenient for me to write about their imperfections on my blog and here on ZUMBEEL. I mean WHY should I go to higher authorities? Have they created the network for us to reach to higher authorities? Have they set up those flashy and fancy call centres to utter rubbish?

 Write Comdear concern, i just want to bring into your account that ptcl is doing bluff with customers.i get the facility of ptcl broadband since 8 months ago from the very first day it is not working well i complaint several times at 1218 and also met sdo at the relevant exchange but no action is been taken against my complaint and till now iam facing the problem.so plz sir i request you to take action against ptcl in response to my complaint.i hope that un will take action soon.plz sir take action i request sir please Pakistanent

 Here is my story everyone... and believe me, it way more frustrating then it looks. I'm not even exaggerating about any of this. I have EXTREMELY SEVER issues with services provided by PTCL. I submitted complaint on Friday 13 August 2010 (complaint No. 128) about problem with DSL and IPTV services. At that time phone line was working perfectly. Problem was with DSL which was down to 2048 instead of 4096 and IPTV was not working since last 2 days i.e. 11 August 2010. I registered a complaint with PTCL is what anyone with problem would do. After long wait and no contact from PTCL customer support, After no work or resolution to my problem from them, I received a call on 15 August, I received an automated call saying "we believe the problem you were facing is fixed"... a complete lie I tell you. My DSL was still on 2048 and IPTV was still not working. I pressed 2 and moved on. This insane activity continued for 2 more days and I kept pressing 2... hoping they would actually do something and fix my issue. On 17th august another tragedy occurred !!! Instead of getting these problems fixed, my entire PTCL connection has simply disappeared from PTCL database. My number has vanished from their system. My phone line is completely DOWN and if I try to use automatic complaint feature on 1218, it tells me that phone number is not valid. WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? I am paying over 3000 rupees/month to get this pathetic service? I ask from anyone who is reading this... Who are these people running this million dollar empire we call PTCL. Do they have any idea at all what their customers are going through? After facing this problem I started finding ways to contact someone who can do something about this, but that someone is probably so much at ease with all the benefits from PTCL, that he doesn't care what we (the customers of PTCL) go through. They get Free Medical for themselves and their whole families, they get good salaries, easy timings to work in, subsidies on services from PTCL (rather free connection and calls), they sit in air conditioned offices, get transport services, automobiles to move them around to get things fixed... they get everything they need... yet, they are sitting somewhere without the knowledge, without the idea of our sufferings. I can keep typing and my frustration wont end. My problems wont go away. No body will care, as no one has. Yet I write to say "when is this gonna end?" Will someone ever actually work in these Govt. offices or keep earning haraam and feeding their families (maybe not all but most of them are like this). Will there ever be someone capable to handle these issues or just sell a service and wait till the customer gets so frustrated that he throws everything to their face and finds an alternate?  Guys futher to improve .. i had 8 days outage of both Internet and Smart Tv ... The most coolest part is there was a strike at exchange level and the lines men did me a favour of getting my connection kicked before going according to the onine support .. Can say much but i think we have to make a combine effort to escalate it to autorites and mb initiate some court proceedings They will continue like that and even we spend money they are still the boss :( -Saad

 @ Saad. I do understand your point brother. There is no doubt some extreme disturbance going on in PTCL at both employee and employer level. Hoping for the matter to be resolved for good.

 Can someone pls guide me? What is an alternative to PTCL, in Bahria Town Lahore? I need phone and internet service. I am new here, and I must say, the people of Pakistan have so much patience for these type of things.
